A320 Type Rating
This course is designed for pilots seeking a type rating on the Airbus A320.
Gear-Up ATO offers Initial and Additional A320 Type Rating courses, as well as A330 to A320 Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ).
The training is divided into several phases:
Theoretical Phase: A combination of distance learning (CBT) and classroom instruction to acquire technical knowledge and familiarize yourself with aircraft procedures.
Practical Phase: Training on an A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to apply both normal and abnormal aircraft procedures.
Base Training: An aircraft flight where the trainee will perform 6 take-offs and landings (if required – this service may be provided by one of our partners).
Type Rating Revalidation & Renewal
These sessions are designed for type-rated pilots wishing to revalidate their current rating or renew an expired one.
Gear-Up ATO can organize your revalidation sessions on Airbus A320, A330/A350, and A340. TREs (Type Rating Examiners) are available for these ratings.
Renewal courses, however, are exclusively available for the Airbus A320. The content of these courses depends on your rating's expiry date as well as your recent flight experience.
Type Rating Instructor (TRI) & Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI)
This course is designed for pilots seeking a Type Rating Instructor (TRI) or Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) certificate.
Gear-Up ATO offers A320 TRI/SFI courses divided into two phases:
Teaching and Learning Module: A classroom-based module dedicated to the learning process and the acquisition of pedagogical techniques.
Practical Module: Conducted on a simulator, where a qualified crew acts as trainees. The TRI/SFI candidate will lead the session by briefing, instructing, and debriefing the crew.
The Teaching and Learning (T&L) module can also be scheduled as a standalone course.
These sessions are designed for type-rated pilots wishing to revalidate their TRI/SFI certificate or renew one that has already expired.
Gear-Up ATO can organize your revalidation sessions for TRI (A320, A330/A350, A340) or SFI (A320, A330/A350, A340) through an Assessment of Competence (AoC). We also offer the mandatory TRI/SFI refresher training.
Renewal courses, however, are exclusively available for the Airbus A320. The content of these courses depends on your certificate's expiry date as well as your recent instructional experience.
